Paola Preschool

Mission Statement and Purpose

Paola Preschool is operated by the First United Presbyterian Church in Paola, Kansas.  The purpose of this program is to:

  • Provide the highest standards of preschool education on a self-supporting basis.
  • Maintain a happy, Christian atmosphere by showing God's love in the way we treat each other and the children.
  • Promote mental, physical, emotional and social growth for each child.

Our goal is that children will learn to live as a child of God - loving God and loving their neighbors as themselves.  We are a children's ministry of the First Presbyterian Church and welcome children from all backgrounds and beliefs.

Schedule & Session Times

Paola Preschool is in session September through May, providing 2-1/2 hour sessions for 3 and 4 year olds.  Each session has no more than 15 children.

3 year old classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

4 year old classes are held on Mondays and Wednesdays with an additional class offered on Friday mornings that has limited availability.

  • Morning Session: 8:30-11:00
  • Afternoon Session: 12:30-3:00

Tuition & Fees

  • Enrollment Fee: $50.00 per child
  • Monthly Tuition $75.00 for 2 days; $100 for three days (4 year olds only)
  • There will be a discount of $10.00 per month for a second child from the same family attending two days per week.

Curriculum

Paola Preschool offers a wide variety of learning experiences which strengthen many areas of development.  Indoor and outdoor activities are included in an informal and flexible program.  Most of our activities coordinate with a theme each week.  This provides opportunities for children to:

  • Engage in experiences involving their senses
  • Participate in creative, free, and directed play
  • Develop a positive self-image
  • Learn to listen and follow directions, take turns, share and make choices
  • Assume responsibility
  • Broaden their understanding of the world around them
  • Be exposed to pre-readiness skills such as: shapes, colors, numbers, letters, positional relationship, language development, visual and auditory skills.
